What we love about this home:
We have loved living & growing our family in this bright, open-plan home. When we first moved here in 2019, we were immediately drawn to North Melbourne’s rare balance of calm & convenience. This quieter pocket of the neighbourhood has given us all the benefits of inner-city living without the constant noise & rush. Over the years, we’ve come to treasure the local cafés & restaurants that have become part of our routine, with favourites including Tone, Bread Club, Mr Tucker, The Courthouse & Fandango. Everything feels close by, from Queen Victoria Market & nearby supermarkets to local gems like Stranger Than Paradise & North Melbourne Books.
As our family grew to include our two young daughters, our connection to this home changed. Our court has been such a safe & welcoming place for the girls to ride their bikes, draw with chalk & play games, all within easy view from home. There’s a lovely sense of community here that made it feel easy to settle in & raise a family.
Many weekends have been spent wandering to Gardiner Reserve along the beautiful Plane Tree Way, cooling off at the North Melbourne Pool, or exploring Royal Park, which has truly felt like an extension of our backyard. The girls have loved bike rides, playground adventures & visits to the zoo, while quieter afternoons often meant story time at the North Melbourne Library. Having all of this so close has brought us enormous joy & made everyday family life feel incredibly easy.
Inside the home, we’ve made thoughtful updates to make it more comfortable & practical. Some of our favourite memories have been cooking on the barbecue in the bluestone courtyard while the kids play nearby, or spending slow afternoons indoors building castles of Lego, blocks & magnetic tiles with the French doors open & fresh air flowing through the house.
The double-glazed doors & reverse-cycle air-conditioning made a huge difference to our comfort throughout the seasons, while also softening outside noise & making the home feel wonderfully peaceful. Upstairs, the walk-in robe became our secret storage spot - especially useful for hiding Christmas presents each year. This was our first home, & it will always hold a very special place for us. We feel incredibly grateful for the years & memories we’ve had here, & we truly hope the next owners will love it as much as we have.
